“Memento mori” in English translates to “remember death” or “remember that you must die.” While it sounds grim, the practice of memento mori is less about fear and more about perspective. This piece is a practice of memento mori in that it is a contemplation of mortality. It reflects on the fleetingness of life and the underlying fragility that is inherent to the human condition.
